Vincent’s Holiday Message to FOVI

Hello all you dear, wonderful FOVI-ites!!!  Another year has passed and gratefully, we’re all still standing.  Well, that’s not entirely accurate as Dr. D is currently convalescent while still in a coma.  Will he remain there indefinitely?  Will he not make it and leave the not-so-good citizens of Pine Valley permanently this time around for the most likely not-so greener pastures?  (I’d have to believe the temperature where Dr. D. ends up in the great beyond would prohibit the growth of any vegetation whatsoever).  Or will he finally come out of his coma to exact further punishment on those ungrateful neighbors who need yet loath him in equal measure?  The best answer to all of these questions is obviously, “Tune in and find out!”  With all that said, I do hope this letter finds you all in great spirits and with hearts filled to overflowing with seasonal joy for this holiday time.

I wanted to reach out to all of you to offer my thanks for all the amazing support you have continued to show me and my character, Dr. Davey, all these years, and even beyond Dr. D. for many of you.  Also, to thank you for the unending support you’ve shown to those charities you have kept close to your heart throughout these years since FOVI began, such as Feeding America this holiday season.  Collectively, we have made such a wonderful difference in the lives of so many, which is due in much greater part to all of you, your compassionate hearts, and your generous donations.  What an extraordinary blessing you have all been to all of them and to me as well.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

What an interesting year, to say the least.  Personally, I never saw this story coming!  First, to be “killed” for nearly 2 months, unable to even hint to the truth to even to my closest family, friends, and supporters, only to return from the dead, (c’mon, it happens all the time!  Doesn’t it? : ), to be shot and put into a coma a few short days later.  Hmmmm.  Yes, a very interesting year, indeed.  As I mentioned above, let’s all see how this plays out…

But through it all, I have continued to find great comfort and even greater appreciation for all of you as a result of your very vocal and steady support.  I am truly touched by your warmth and genuine kindness through it all, as I always have been.  These are facts I will never take for granted, nor can I ever truly thank you enough.

And as if that support hadn’t been enough, your beyond generous gifts to me continue to blow me away.  Thank you so much for the birthday gift at Amazon.com, as well as the fruit basket, (the pears were humongous, the largest I believe I’ve ever seen.  I think they were mutant pears!  And they were absolutely delicious!)  And Janet, I have to say, I believe you’ve outdone yourself in the Christmas card.  So adorable!  It put a big smile on my heart.  Thank you, all of you!!!

I have to tell you, I’m so enjoying the Kindle from my last birthday still.  I’m currently reading my way through, “World Without End,” by Ken Follett, which is the sequel to, “Pillars of the Earth,” which I also loved.  In fact, they were both recommended to me by Bobbie Eakes, who gave me them in hardcopy before you gave me the gift of the Kindle.  But since they’re both close to 1,000 pages, I can’t tell you how much more enjoyable it is to not have to lug those massive books around everywhere with me.  My shoulders have fared so much better as a result of your dear generosity, and if they were able to speak, they would also thank you.  But, since they are without that capability, I will thank you sincerely and unendingly for them.

Here’s wishing all of you a blessed New Year, filled with good health, abundance in all those areas of necessity for your daily lives, and an overflowing of love and support from those who mean the most, family and dear friends, as you have shown yourself to be for me.  Group hug!!!!!

Forever grateful,
Vincent and Dr. David.
(You see, even he has enough of a heart to be grateful for all of you : )

Vincent named in Soap Opera Digest’s “Editor’s Choice”

In the most recent Soap Opera Digest, Vincent’s/David’s return is praised in a great writeup from the mag’s “Editor’s Choice” column –

“In an episode that was simultaneously over-the-top preposterous and compulsively watchable, David took the stand and filled in the many blanks left by his faux demise. It was an expository tour de force by Irizarry, whose smooth facility for making his vilified alter ego seem like a hero in his own eyes hadn’t waned a bit during his months-long absence. But from Darnell Williams’ (Jesse) stunned double take at this first glimpse of his resurrected nemesis to the scorching tirade of betrayed daughter Marissa (Brittany Allen, in the waning days of her AMC career, gave her most powerful perfomance to date) to the rage/relief/remorse cascading all over Rebecca Budig’s (Greenlee) expressive face, no one lacked for scenery to chew, and while viewers will likely long debate whether the end justified the means, we must salute AMC for bringing this wild ride to a close in rollicking fashion–and for not letting Irizarry get away.”

All My Children’s New Opening Credits

Thanks to TV Guide, we get a sneak peek of the new AMC opening credits before it is scheduled to air on Wednesday, December 22, 2010!  Dr. Hayward looks better than ever…  ;)

ABC’s flagship soap All My Children hasn’t had a new opening credits sequence in ages — in fact, not since Julie Hanan Carruthers took over as executive producer in the 2002-03 season. But a brand new opener is set to debut Wednesday, December 22. Gone are the archival scrapbook photos seen in the current credits, as well as images of David Canary (Adam) and Ray MacDonnell (Joe), who have retired from the show, and James Mitchell (Palmer), who died early this year. That’s not all that’s missing: Carruthers decided to drop those stagey glamour shots of the AMC stars and replaced them with actual AMC clips for a fresher, more natural look. “The thought was to be more true to the characters and make their environments and lifestyles more specific in order to give the audience a window into Pine Valley,” says Carruthers. TV Guide Magazine brings you this exclusive first look.
